Agenda for today: Please fill out the self assessment rubric for your project. Critique 8 other students using the back of your rubric. Intro to new project, Faceless Self Portrait Start Brainstorming worksheet and value worksheet (Due Monday) Faceless Self Portrait Draw a “self portrait” where you represent yourself with things, places and activities that define you, instead of the features that define you. You could choose to literally replace your face with something or you could just draw a part of your body besides your face and focus on the setting and things around you. Step One: Create a Web of things that define you Think about what spaces do you live in/enjoy? What do you like to do with your time? What are your favorite material possessions? You must include at least 3 “clues” about your personality. Step Two: Take Photographs and Gather Images Take some photographs of your surroundings and special (or super regular) “things” that you might use for your drawing. Print them out!!! Step Three: Final sketch Using your brainstorm web and the photographs that you took, create a sketch of your final drawing composition. Step Four: Get your paper and begin! Once you show your teacher your completed brainstorm web (with thumbnail sketches), final sketch and printed photographs, you can get your paper and begin drawing.
