All students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of juxtaposition and exaggeration while creating a drawing combining multiple subjects in an invented space.
Juxtaposition: an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, especially for comparison or contrast.
Exaggeration: The act of doing or representing in an excessive manner.
Surrealism: the principles, ideals, or practice of producing fantastic or incongruous imagery or effects in art, literature, film, or theater by means of unnatural or irrational juxtapositions and combinations.
Project Due Tuesday
Rob Gonsalves is a 55-year-old Canadian of Portuguese descent who paints scenes that fill in the space somewhere in between everyday activities and hallucinations. His images contain dual representations of reality—with his particular artistry forming a connection between fantasy and nonfiction.
